Get Creative at Art’s a Blast

Artist Shay Cronin has been honing her craft for more than three decades, but it was only recently that she decided to debut her own business, Art's a Blast. With the help of other local artists and art teachers, Shay launched this endeavor in order to bring fun painting classes to the residents of Rockwall.

The studio hosts everything from private classes for adults to camps for kids. Regardless of the audience, Shay and her team conceive fun, engaging painting classes that result in take-home pieces ready to hang on your wall. Don't worry if you haven't picked up a paintbrush in a few years. Art's a Blast's teachers can easily instruct and help you through the process of painting one step at a time.

Sip on House-Brewed Beers at the Woodcreek Brewing Company

"There's just something about a garage that brings people together," at least according to the founders of Woodcreek Brewing Company. They launched their local brewery, initially, in a small garage. They didn't need much space to invent and start brewing the beers that would eventually become known all around Rockwall and beyond. Today, however, the brewers have outgrown their garage space and moved into a permanent location in Rockwall.

You can head to the tap room Thursday through Saturday to sip on the various brews. There are some that are always on tap, like the signature Lakeside Cerveza Blonde Ale, the New Horizon American Wheat, and the Highway 66 Pale Ale. However, Woodcreek brewers also create new suds for each season—stop by before April if you want to sip on the Black Gold Chocolate Stout.

Guests of Painting With a Twist are encouraged to bring a bottle of their favorite beverage and some snacks to the class.
