Tackle the Great Texan Outdoors at the Family Campout on November 11th and 12th

If you're looking for a way to get family or friends into the great outdoors without weeks of planning, the Rockwall Parks and Recreation Department can help. Its team is doing all of the legwork for the Outdoor Family Campout on the weekend of November 11th and 12th—all you have to do is register and show up.

The campout kicks off at 1 p.m. on Saturday when campers will show up at Harry Myers Park. Kids will get to play games and sharpen their nature skills, while adults will gather around the campfire to learn how to craft healthy and hot dishes over open flames. Those dishes will be served up for dinner before everyone embarks on a scavenger hunt or does a little fishing. BYO tent and sleeping bags; everything else will be provided. Registration is $15 for Rockwall residents and $23 for non-residents.
